Cooper
Cooper, a Junior at University of North Carolina majoring in Political Science and Peace, War, & Defense. He has goals to become a lawyer. He is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder II and ADHD.
“Knowing that I can thrive despite my diagnosis empowers me to continue pushing to achieve my goals, and I hope others can see my story and feel that they can achieve their dreams.”
Aimee
Aimee, a junior at University of Massachusetts studying to be a RN. She was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder II as she started her Associates Degree for nursing. She is a mother of three beautiful children.
“I want to continue having those frank conversations, to show my kids that my diagnosis does not define me. That they strengthen me just as much as I strengthen me.”
Ruth
Ruth, a freshman at Ohio University studying business. She was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when a junior in High School.
“My goal now is to be a shoulder to for those in my community, to help other people persevere through their difficulties, and to show”
Jordyn
Jordyn, a sophomore at University of Illinois, Chicago wanting to be a Physician Assistant. She is diagnosed with Cyclothymic Disorder
“I believe these struggles I have experienced willonly push me further. There will always be stops and setbacks, but they have made me morepersistent. I hope that in my career as a PA.”
Alejandra
Alejandra, is a junior at Colorado State University studying fine arts and education. She has goals to be a credentialed teacher for K-12 art. She also has a Bachelor of Arts from Standford in Comparative Studies on Race and Ethnicity. She is diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder.
Becca
Becca, a freshman at American University studying Political Science and Sociology. She was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when a sophomore in High School.
Bella
Bella, a freshman at Texas Tech University studying Psychology. She was diagnosed with Bipolar II Disorder when 8 years old.
Elvis
Elvis, a junior at University of Illinois, Chicago working on his Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies. He is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder
Parker
Parker, a freshman at Landmark College looking to go into criminal Justice. He is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Generalized Anxiety and ADHD.
“I want to use my experience as somebody with bipolar to create better opportunities for people to get the help they need when the criminal justice system is involved.”
Matthew
Matthew, a freshman at Simon Fraser University studying sustainable energy
engineering. He is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.
“No matter how I feel, I always spend timeoutside and do at least 10 minutes of something that release good chemicals in my brainevery day.”
George
George, a senior at University of Minnesota, Morris aspiring to be a psychiatrist. He is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.
“My mother jokes that God had to give me a mental illness to make me more relatable and empathetic.”
Ellie
Ellie, a freshman at the University of Oaklahoma. Her plan is to become an Orthopedic Physician’s Assistant. She was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when a junior in high school.
“I am honored to be a recipient of this scholarship in honor of Jared. I will do my best to continue to push through difficulty in honor of his memory.”
